font? who said anything about a font? and I spent like 30 minutes working on that BG! It's not just a texture overlayed or anything.

Besides, the whole point of the thread was to ask does anyone have any ideas so I can carry on with it, please read it before commenting.

Your web layouts are awful. I'm not being harsh in any way. Your sense of typography, placement and alignment is way off. I think you've gone the wrong way down the route of web design, taking inspiration from template sites, try to move towards the new web, get some books that explain usability, typography on the web, elements and check out some g...

This is my latest piece, I've started off with a pretty striking colour scheme and some nice type, but I have no idea where to go from here, anything I try doesn't really come out well, any ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks guys.
