First Installment of World Exhibition III + DACSxS3 http://www.slashthree.com/news/16254/ July 2nd, 2012 11:36 AM Designers Against Child Slavery, a non-profit organization that allows creatives to speak out against sex trafficking and the sexual exploitation of young children. The partnership will see Slashthree hosting its first ever live, offline art exhibition in Florida in just a few months' time. Everyone within the collective is hard at work bringing this exhibition to life, and we are all very excited about the opportunity to meet and greet with fans and other artists while lending our time and talents to this outstanding cause.
A project of such magnitude as the collaboration with Designers Against Child Slavery requires more time and effort than the typical Slashthree exhibition. As such, the collective has decided to release our latest exhibition, "World Exhibition III", incrementally. Every two weeks, we will publicly release a handful of new pieces from the exhibition - accessible via the official exhibition hub - starting from today and running for the foreseeable future. The first increment features illustrations by Tarin Yaungtrakul, Erik Schumacher, Marco Casalvieri and Yvan Fuesi, and photography by Donald Cameron and Nichlas Boysen.
Thank you for your continued support, and please enjoy the first installment of World Exhibition III!

Fairy Tales http://www.slashthree.com/news/16062/ March 10th, 2012 3:32 PM
An international art collective was tasked with visually recreating their favorite childhood stories. Today, the Slashthree collective is proud to release it's eighteenth exhibition, “Fairy Tales”. The project invited the artists to delve into their fondest childhood memories and recreate the magic they felt when they were whisked off to a land far, far away. Each piece of art in this exhibition is a unique, beautiful interpretation of fairy tales from both popular culture or the contributing artist’s own culture, all of which have come together to create one of our finest exhibitions to date. The collective welcomed the contributions of a number of new artists such as Chris Valentine, Man-Tsun and Nathan Walker to this project, as well as the returns of a few of the collective's veteran members such as Anton Semenov, Roy Bourkel, Zach Bush and Kacper Spala.

Since becoming a member of the Slashthree artist core in October 2010, Rob Shields has been a pillar of consistency both in creating artwork for our exhibitions as well as lending his voice and opinions behind the scenes. Rob’s two incredible submissions to “Fairy Tales” provide evidence for his outstanding growth as an artist since he has joined the collective, and for these as well as his outstanding behind-the-scenes contributions Rob has earned the title of “Featured Artist” for Exhibition 18. You can catch an interview between Rob and Site Director Saad Moosajee by clicking here.

With that, we invite you to immerse yourself in the world of your childhood with Slashthree’s eighteenth exhibition: Fairy Tales.

Thank you,

Quote Unquote Released! http://www.slashthree.com/news/15551/ September 3rd, 2011 2:31 PM Today however, the collective proudly unveils its seventeenth exhibition, an exhibition in which the artists were asked to reflect on some of the literature that inspires them in their daily lives. Each piece in “Quote Unquote” is based on a quote – famous, cultural, or even from the artist’s own life – and is created to represent that quote and its meaning to the artist. The result is a library of 60 of the collective’s finest and most personally meaningful works to date.
Just before the New Era project was launched, slashTHREE welcomed Tarin Yuangtrakul, a 19 year old artist from Thailand. Tarin’s impact on the collective was instantaneous, and his two submissions to “Quote Unquote” demonstrate the progress he has made as an artist since joining the collective, and showed true dedication to the exhibition. Tarin’s sublime mixture of traditional and digital art was something new which captivated the entire artist core. Tarin Yuangtrakul has become not only the first traditional artist to be named as the “featured artist” for a slashTHREE exhibition, but also the youngest artist in slashTHREE’s history to receive the honour. Site Director Saad Moosajee sat down with Tarin to discuss life and art; you can read the interview here.
There is a number of amazing things coming from SlashTHREE in the second half of 2011, so keep an eye on our home page, as well as our Facebook and Twitter accounts for announcements and updates! For now though, please feast your eyes on Exhibition 17: “Quote Unquote”.
Sincerely,
