I am in need of a new laptop.. It's main use will be photo software, music and digital art etc. I can't afford too much, I just lost like $500 in a bank error, and had to balance a negative fee >.> but I need a new laptop.. Any suggestions?
If anyone suggests Dell, don't post.

Personally i bought a cheap Gateway at Best buy, and it works really well. I did upgrade its memory and graphics card about 6 months after I got it only because I wanted to. I felt greedy and wanted more but was to cheap to buy a new laptop. If I remember correctly I paid about $450. Hope this helps you out some. ( The upgrades came to about 300 after I was done)

I myself have a Toshiba Satellite. And I honestly have no complaints. I got it when it was one sale at BestBuy so I got an extremely good deal for an extremely good laptop. I highly recommend it.
But your best bet would be any Macbook. They are simply the best out there, they are just more pricey than the others. That's the only reason I got mine than a Macbook

Well, thanks for the input. I might be able to get a macbook pro rather cheap, my bro's mom who does graphic arts for a living doesn't use hers anymore, so she may sell it to me ![]()

Don't buy a Mac, your just buying the name.
Go for something like an Hp or Toshiba.
You can get a nice one for $600-700, which is more than capable for what you need.

Been leaning on that idea for an HP, but if I can get this macbook for a deal, may be worth it.

Yea, if you can get it pretty cheap jump on it.
It's just not worth what Apple is charging for it.
