PC.

I don't care what kinda computer-thingy I'm working on, my work stays the same on each system. But the hard changeable look of Windows 7 sucks (Win XP was best).

It's pretty funny to see the discussion about mac vs. pc. I'm planning on buying a new computer and it's been a though battle, lol.. It seems like i'm ending up with a top-performance pc. Would love to have mac one day though..

The problem about this discussion is, that the common fanboy always ends up in an error situation like this:

$product = 0;
$logic = 1;
$commonsense = 1;
$budget = -1;
$price = '2000$+';
$buy = '';

if(($product > $logic) & ($product > $commonsense) & ($price < $budget)) $buy = 'true';
    else{
        $buy = 'false';
    }
if($buy = 'false') $buy = 'true';

Poor little fellas :<

I am new to the community but I think both have their merits. Personally I never used a mac, would like to someday but to get a mac and get all the programs I use for mac I could probably by a very nice car. I have learned a lot by reading peoples opinion but I always thought people say mac is better for graphic design because it handles graphic design software better, not using as much resources as a pc would which at times makes are programs crash.

as far as how things look on a screen well I don't think that holds to much merit if I wanted my stuff on screen to look better on my pc then a mac I could do that simpily by hooking my pc up to a expensive hdtv lol and work. I personally think it comes down to what you will tolerate when working with either and what your comfortable with but none the less I like this topic very informative smile

Everyone on this thread is saying Mac screens are better? What about a PC with a monitor from Dell (Dell Ultra Sharp U2410) or a LaCie 526 or a EIZO FlexScan S2243W, or maybe if this is possible a PC with a apple cinema display?

Im currently on the 27" quad, but also running win7 on a partition basically just for games. I prefer mac os for design related stuff, seems to switch between programs more seamlessly, but as a rule its just OS preferance i think. Hardware wise apple always overcharge, iphones arent the best phones, ipods not the best music players and ipads not the best tablets. So im guessing macs are no different obviously. But mine was a gift for my 18th birthday, and having said everything above, i still do actually find it an ideal platform for me to work on having moved over from a tower pc running win xp (which was still good enough at the time for me), but im far from an apple fan boy, maybe if they lowered their prices :p but windows is more versatile.

I bought my first mac a few years ago. it's pretty awkward to use a PC now since i'm used to all the mac shortcuts (even though one button = alt makes a huge difference)
