Hey guys, I just wanted your thoughts on something.
Ever since getting a piece of the traditional art community in real life, I started to wonder if the digital art community has an autonomous, negligent, and, quite frankly, parasitic connotation to it. For example, when someone appreciates your art, it is normal for the comment to go unwarrantable in some situations. Also, when you contact someone, it is normal for him to simply ignore you if he does not want to answer. Lastly, there is a lot of drama. It's hard to explain, but there is an entire atmosphere to the digital art clique; when you're talking to someone who isn't part of the community, you sort of feel it through the way they act and reply to you. It's almost refreshing, as if the community us digital artists reside in is full off something not desirable. Don't mistaken my thoughts for my opinion, I could be mistaken, but I want to know what you all think? Does anyone feel/notice it?
To clarify, by community, I mean the entire digital art clique; from dA, to S3, to Behance, to graphics forums, to tutorial websites. And, by Digital artist, It can be extended to musicians and highly-involved photographers.
