^ NEC pro monitors (not cheap shit, I mean +2500$ models) are among best on today's market. Top NEC's monitors are actually better than top apple monitors.
There are even cooler monitors than NEC (can't remeber name, something like EIZO) but their prices are >5000$ for 30"
so it's kinda too much.
So monitor can't really be a reason to choose mac.

Eh. My main reason for choosing MAC is just the overall simplicity of the OSX. Easier to find things, navigate to them, and it just doesn't seem as cluttered. Windows 7 does do a good job though at simplifying things though. ![]()

I just bought the iMac 27" 3,33ghz, and its amazing, i also thought pc was better but after a mac you never want something else.

well pc has more variety imo but i would prefer a mac over a pc even tho i feel a pc is more easy then a mac due to mac having slight differences ( via photoshop shortcuts)

It actually doesn't matter what are you using, since you're a good artist/designer. You'll be able to produce good work on both PC or Mac..
Me personally, I'm using a 17" MBP @ home and a Mac Pro + 23" Cinema Display @ work, but still I don't think there're any difference. It's still the same Adobe Creative Suite ![]()

never use mac before..all i know is mac is good with visual appearance..
but a like to use PC..it's easy to use for me..and i like doing right click ![]()

Well, first I'd say it all depends on personal tastes. I have both of them and I would argue about 2 things generally found on a mac: 1. you pay 150% for cheap hardware just because the apple logo is on it. 2. Leopard is stable as hell, but it generally macs don't use hardware so much as they could. Therefor I like my macbook for traveling, it's safe and stable, but for power I use my pc. It's just worlds stronger than any iMac. (And I didn't even pay a piece of their prices)
@Myaka you're right, Eizo makes damn good monitors. I got one myself, was lucky, because it was the last one the vendor had, so he sold it to me for 10% xD I mean 26,5'' for 285 Euros with perfect color calibration and super image quality is like christmas ![]()

I don't really know much about technical or small differences, but overall, i believe i prefer Mac. There aren't many things i really like about Windows, but i'm really used to it, the right click and just the way i use it, it's very different from Macs. For experience, and in my opinion, it's easier and smoother to work with a Mac in almost everything I can think of, i mean of what i usually do, design and media are my main priorities.
I'm saving up cash to hopefully get a MacBook Pro (sick of this netbook and it's tiny screen
), i believe you get what you pay for, so i have to disagree with iGod about paying 150% for the Apple logo, as i said, i don't know much about hardware or hell.. even software that much, so i may be wrong, if that's the case, then sorry.. but iLife and some extras, plus the iSight camera are included.. i'm not saying they're unique or worth a lot, but it's gotta be something, right? 4GB of RAM and 320GB of HD would do a lot of good, haha.
Anyways, that's just my opinion, i've used Windows my whole life and just wanna try something different and, in my opinion, better.

I give you the perfect example, take my setup: Octa @ 4,3 Ghz, 24 GB RAM, HD 5970 @ 4GB and a FireGL Card for open rendering. Guess what I payed ? About 1800 Euros. Take the same setup from apple in an iMac, and youre going to pay about 20000. (Best part: They don't even serve so good hardware.) And then the iMac is even slower, because the architecture of the OS doesn't let you handle so much power in the best way (that's the price fot the stability). For the price I got mine you can expect a mid class macbook from apple. The best proof for that is the iPhone, I have one myself, and I love it, but it is all made from cheap hardware made in China. What I want to criticise here isn't the Mac, or the system, but apple itself. You pay more than twice the money than the actual product was really worth. Why ? Apple isn't stupid, people are, they think because their Macbook looks fancy (what they indeed do!), it has too enormous power and the best hardware, but that's simply not true.
When You buy a Macbook Pro, you get a solid, stable, fast, stylish and good way to work with. My only comlaint, you don't get what you actually could get for that amount of money, just because the apple logo is on it. That's all.

Well yeah, i've heard around that you may be paying more than you should, and it would be amazing if they were cheaper, they're great for me as they already are in price and everything, but i have to admit it's quite a lot of money and maybe it shouldn't be that way. Oh and.. 24GB?.. 0.0 that's A LOT xD

Yeah, I love the mac, it's fresh, but I hate apple. I am running my system on a server platform, recently switched it to a board capable of handling 64 GB Ram ^^, but still nooo need at all ![]()
I don't think that the differences between Leopard and Windows are that big anymore, I mean they do the same thing, and a well configured pc never crashes, just as a mac. The major difference in my opinion is, that a Mac is for enthusiasts who instantly want to start, without having the need to waste alot of time in a perfect calibration. The price for this is, that you actually can't really tweak a mac. On a pc the price for the high possibilities for tweaking are risks. It all has their good and bad aspects :>, so choose what you do like.

Wow 64 is ridiculous xD
Now that you bring up why you hate Apple... I hate 'fanboys' (specially Apple's), they love everything Apple releases just as long as it's shiny, which is stupid, what you need to do is analize every aspect, functionality, price, etc.. Not just saying that it's better cause it's Apple's.. i just prefer Macs over other PC's, but again, that's just me, haha.
You're right about the tweaking part, it's much more common to see people doing that with Windows computers. But i don't really care about that part, for me it's better to just have it ready for work and don't worry about extra stuff if you don't need it.

And that's why something like a Mac fits you. You are totally right with the opinion that everybody should argue it out with neutral statements to find out what fits him best. One thing that's too interesting about Windows is the compatibility. There exists about 100000000 times the amount of software than you can have on a mac ^^ That's too worth a thought. Sure, if you don't need it all, it's simply irrelevant, because you have photoshop on them both :>
