Re: Photography

Yeah for digital, either Canon or Nikon - whichever feels best in your hands really, the image quality is so similar on them both and you're probably going to edit them anyway...

For film, there's a really wide variety and you can spend from like £40 to £4000 and get a nice camera however much you pay... I'd suggest sticking to something like an Olympus OM range, Minolta or Pentax.

Re: Photography

Canon in my opinion, has a better catalog of cameras since beginners to professionals. Is hard don't find a Canon camera for your needs.

Nikon instead a big list of cameras, has better compatible lenses or at least i find more quality lenses for Nikon for a "normal" prize. Canon is very expensive respect the lenses.

anyways whatever mark you decide, besides the camera body, the most important thing is find a good lens for your ideas and kind of photography you want to do.

pd: another thing is the sensor thing, what do you want? Full Frame, middle?

Re: Photography

ok so to answer you folks questions....

i have approx 1k to use on this.   i have no problem going higher or lower if that ends up bein the best path.  (preferably lower lol)

and  as for the sensor I'm debating.    But i think I'ma go with a full frame.

Re: Photography

I'd suggest you get yourself a Canon 500D or something similar and buy yourself some proper lenses.
The body is less important than the lenses

Re: Photography

you should look around on website and see what lenses they suggest, it all depends on what kind of photography you'd like to start with. If you only want a camera and a standard lense for the 1k, you could get something better than the 500D, maybe the 50D or something

Re: Photography

i got a 400d that was in demo condition w/ 18-55mm lens. this only cost me $500 CAD then I spent $420 CAD on a tamron 90mm macro lens on ebay. I gotta, its worth every buck!.
So canon is the way to go (for me), if you're not going professional any body will do, because what is important is the lens. save your money on buying a cheaper body and spend it on a good lens.

Re: Photography

if you already have lenses for either camera go with that brand. if no lenses to start with then....it's a toss up. check dpreview.com for images samples.  i prefer canon.
